1. Who we are
This site is published by the Take Charge Leadership Institute ("TCLI", "we", "us"), which operates the personal site of Nyimpini Mabunda, the CEO Nights podcast and the Institute's programmes.
For anything in this document, including any request about your personal information, write to info@takechargeli.co.za.
2. Using this site
You are welcome to read, share and link to anything here. In return we ask that you do not attempt to break, overload or gain unauthorised access to the site or its systems, and that you do not use it to send anyone unlawful or abusive material.
We work to keep the information on this site accurate and current, but we do not warrant that it is complete or error-free. Nothing here is legal, financial or professional advice, and it should not be relied on as a substitute for advice about your own circumstances.
The site links to other places, including YouTube, LinkedIn, Instagram and our payment provider. We are not responsible for what happens on sites we do not control, and their own terms and privacy notices apply once you leave ours.
3. What we collect, and why
We collect as little as we can, and only what you type in yourself.
When you join the waitlist
- Your first name and surname, so we can address you properly.
- Your email address, so we can reach you.
- Which link brought you — for example whether you arrived from the Institute page or the CEO Nights section — so the email we send you is relevant.
- The date and time you signed up.
That is the whole list. We do not ask for a phone number, a company, an address, an identity number, or any payment detail.
When you email us
We keep your message and your address so we can reply and pick the conversation up again later.
We do not sell, rent or trade your information. Not to advertisers, not to partners, not to anyone.
5. How long we keep it
We keep your waitlist details until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them, after which they are removed from our records and from beehiiv. Correspondence is kept only as long as it is useful, or as long as the law requires.
6. Your rights under POPIA
South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act gives you the right to:
- ask what personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct anything that is wrong;
- ask us to delete it;
- object to us using it, and withdraw your consent at any time;
- complain to the Information Regulator if you are not satisfied with how we respond.
Write to info@takechargeli.co.za and we will act on any of these within a reasonable time and at no cost. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything we did lawfully beforehand.
7. Email you receive from us
If you join the waitlist you are agreeing to receive email from the Institute about the launch of the TCLI platform, invitations to CEO Nights live recordings, new books, and related Institute news.
Every email carries a one-click unsubscribe link. Using it removes you from the list immediately and completely. You will not be asked why, and you will not be emailed again.
8. Books and payments
Books are sold through an external payment provider. When you buy, you leave this site and complete the purchase on their secure page under their terms. We never see or store your card details.
Delivery times, refunds and returns for book orders are handled by the Institute. If something is wrong with an order, write to info@takechargeli.co.za and we will put it right.
Pre-orders are charged and fulfilled according to the terms shown at the point of purchase, and prices may change before a title is released.
9. Events and live recordings
Joining the waitlist is not a ticket. Seats at CEO Nights live recordings are limited, and invitations are issued at our discretion.
These events are filmed and recorded. If you attend, you may appear in photographs, audio or video that we publish. If you would rather not, tell us when you arrive and we will seat you out of shot.
10. Content and copyright
The text, photographs, logos, book covers and design on this site belong to the Take Charge Leadership Institute, to Nyimpini Mabunda, or to the photographers and publishers who licensed them to us. Take Charge and CEO Nights, and their associated marks, are ours.
You may quote short extracts with attribution and a link. Reproducing substantial parts, or using anything here commercially, needs our written permission first.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update this page as the Institute's work changes. The date at the top always reflects the current version. If we make a change that materially affects how we use your personal information, we will tell subscribers by email rather than quietly amending this page.
